How to use Binance Bridge to transfer tokens in MetaMask “Main Ethereum Network” to MetaMask at Binance Smart Chain(BSC) for trading.
Take the USDT peg-in at Binance Bridge website as example with a target to make trade at Pancake Swap. The official guide at Binance Bridge website is very helpful as a step-by-step guideline, somehow I still feel uncertain as an extremely beginner at BSC, therefore record the flow that i process.
- Click “Bridge” at PancakeSwap that will take you to the official Binance Bridge page, please be sure that you access to the right address。
Within Binance Bridge, it provides a function to trade-out your none BSC token then trade-in BSC compatible token for following contract interaction.
For example, in my interaction. I want to get a BSC compatible USDT from my ERC-20 MetaMask wallet, in order to make a Swap at PancakeSwap. I need to firstly send out my ERC-20 USDT to an address at Binance Bridge, then have it transferring into BEP-20 compatible asset in my BSC environment MetaMask.
2. Click “connect wallet” at Binance Bridge website then choose MetaMask, and make sure you select the right destination network, here we need to choose Binance Smart Chain network and the corresponding specific account that i setup for BSC network. Binance Bridge should be able to read automatically your destination address if the setup is correct. You will need to setup your BSC setup in your MetaMask through this guideline.
3. Make sure the destination is connected to the right address then you could choose to go “peg-in” and select the Network you prefer and the Amount. You will also be able to read the receiving amount after the “Bridging”.
4. Then a pop-up message will give you a summary about Network fee, address and receiving amount.
5. Click confirm, a target address will be generated. You will need to send the amount that you planned within two hours in one transaction. The function of the bridge is to provide you a target address. After you send token to target address it will transfer to your assigned BEP20 address. Each address is different during each “Bridging” . Copy the address.
6. Go back to MetaMask under “Main Ethereum Network” and transfer the token to the address just pop-up at Binance Bridge. (Here is ERC-20 USDT as example). Enter the target address and the amount that we just put then trigger the sending. If you are transferring your own token through Binance instead of MetaMask, you could simply “withdraw” your token in your Binance account to the MetaMask BSC address without all these worries here.。
7. Setup the Gas Fee and confirm to send. After the Send is done, there will be a “completed” message at Binance Bridge website then BEP20 token will appear in the MetaMask. Now you could trade in Pancake Swap.
